Hello! And welcome to my website!
I am Nikki Tibbett–wife, mom, teacher, artist, entrepreneur, business owner, instructional design student, and all-around creative.
Nikolai Designs started in 2009, when I returned to the Central Valley, California from Montana. For the past 15 years it has not only been my business, but also an ongoing expression of my creative journey. More recently, it showcases the work that I am completing for my master’s program.
In Montana, I earned my BA in Secondary Education and my BA in Broadfield Social Science at the University of Providence, Great Falls, MT. I hold credentials in both California and Montana, and I am currently pursuing a Masters of Instructional Design at Quinnipiac University. With a certificate in After Effects and completed courses in mixed media, animation, I also have a strong background in digital media, art, and design.
After relocating and my young boys entering school, I also began teaching Civics, Economics, and AP United States History. However, my latest venture took me out of the classroom and into the role of entrepreneur, where I designed and opened a coffee shop in a 1940’s gas station. In 2021, we successfully flipped our business, which has afforded me the opportunity to fully delve into instructional design, with a focus on motion.
My Instructional design philosophy revolves around crafting materials and experiences that are accessible, engaging, and goal-oriented. I thrive on meaningful projects with a positive message.
In my free time I like to learn!! You can find me in online classes across the internet. To explore my recent experiences, check out my latest blog post.
Thanks so much for stopping by!
